The heat of the Summer seems to be behind us so what does that mean for your Greenbug System? It is Fall, so it means your Greenbug System is facing one of the most critical times of the year. The many reasons are listed below:
Fall Mosquitoes controlled by a Greenbug System:
We are still in the peak mosquito months. The beautiful Fall weather still provides plenty of breeding rains and temperatures that crank out some serious blood sucking skeeters. Plus, you are more likely to be outside since it is not blazing hot outside. Using the diluted Greenbug Concentrate in your Greenbug System means no more skeeters!
Diseases Increase in Fall:
While this is directly related to mosquitoes, it is the time of year that mosquito borne diseases are most common. West Nile Virus gets more prevalent as the season wears on so the threat of any individual mosquito bite carrying a disease gets higher as we head into Fall. In Beaufort County last month, a resident died of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) which is a disease contracted through mosquitoes. While the death was the first from EEE in Beaufort County in 20 years, it is a health threat to take seriously.

Turf Damage in Fall and Year-Round:
There are countless pests that affect the health of your turf throughout the year. Many of those pests breed and nest in the cooler months. In particular, Mole Crickets can destroy a beautiful lawn overnight as they emerge from the ground and eat all the roots of your grass. If you don’t want Mole Crickets, you need to keep your Greenbug System running year-round so that the females do not lay eggs in your yard. Another pests who lay eggs in the turf are grubs. While grubs do not damage turf, they are the favorite food source for Moles who tunnel and cause unbelievable damage. If you don’t want Moles, then run the Greenbug System all year long to keep the Mole food out of your yard!

Fall No-See-Em Season:
While the worst time of year for No-See-Ems is the Spring, Fall is a very close second. No-See-Ems need a set of perfect circumstances to breed and when those circumstances exist, they multiply by the thousands to make your life miserable! Temperatures are not hot – they are around 72 degrees – just the perfect temperature to be outside. We don’t have No-See-Ems in the Summer – they do not like the heat. But as soon as you want to be outside and enjoy life, they want to be there as well. Keep the Greenbug System running to keep No-See-Ems away!

Fall Leaf Drop creates Better Pest Environments:
When the leaves drop in the Fall, they create excellent nesting sites for bugs. Seriously, if you were a big fat Palmetto Bug, wouldn’t you love to be in layers of leaf debris with ample moisture from rainfall and plenty of decaying matter to munch on? Well, a Greenbug System will tell all those hearty Palmetto Bugs to go elsewhere – they are NOT welcome in your yard – Fall leaf drop or not! Keep that Greenbug System going to keep the bugs away.

Perfect pest breeding opportunities in the Fall coupled with increased rates of mosquito-borne disease, plus a resurging desire to be outdoors, this time of year is when a Greenbug System is very important.
